Swiss Government Excellence Scholarships

The Swiss Government, through the Federal Commission for Scholarships for Foreign Students (FCS), awards various postgraduate scholarships to foreign scholars and researchers. These scholarships provide graduates from all fields with the opportunity to pursue doctoral or postdoctoral research in Switzerland at one of the public funded universities or recognized institutions.

• Open to postgraduate researchers in any discipline (who hold a master’s degree as a minimum).
• Art scholarships are available for art students wishing to pursue an initial master’s degree in Switzerland.
• Must be from an eligible country.

1. Check if your country is eligible on the FCS website.
2. Find a supervising professor at a Swiss institution willing to support your research.
3. Submit your application package to the Swiss representation in your home country.
