Overview

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) offers this fully funded scholarship to international students who wish to study at Japanese universities as undergraduate or research (master's/PhD) students. It is the most sought-after scholarship in Japan.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Nationality: Must have the nationality of a country that has diplomatic relations with Japan.
  • Age: Under 24 for Undergraduates; under 35 for Research students.
  • Academic: Must meet strong academic standards and pass MEXT examinations.
