Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship (GOI-IES)
Overview
Designed to attract outstanding international students to Ireland. The GOI-IES is highly competitive (only ~60 awarded annually) and supports one year of full-time study at the Master’s or PhD level.
Eligibility Requirements
- Nationality: Non-EU/non-EEA citizens.
- Academic Offer: You MUST have a conditional or final offer of admission to an eligible Irish higher education institution BEFORE applying for the scholarship.
- Merit: Requires an excellent academic record, strong personal statement, and demonstrable leadership potential.
How to Apply
- Apply to your chosen Irish university and secure an offer letter.
- Once the GOI-IES call opens (usually Spring), submit an application via the official online portal.
- Provide two references and a strong personal statement outlining why you chose Ireland.
