ARES Scholarships (Wallonia-Brussels)

The ARES (Académie de Recherche et d’Enseignement supérieur) scholarship is a fully funded program designed for professionals and students from designated developing countries. It allows them to pursue advanced bachelor’s, specialized master’s degrees, or continuing education courses within the Wallonia-Brussels Federation in Belgium. It is specifically aimed at building capacity and expertise that candidates can bring back to their home countries.

• Nationality: Citizen and resident of an ARES partner country (primarily in Africa, South America, and Southeast Asia).
• Experience: At least two years of relevant professional experience post-graduation.
• Age: Under 40 years old for degree programs (under 45 for short training courses).
• Language: Strong command of French is typically required as most programs are taught in French.

1. Monitor the official ARES website for the annual call for applications.
2. Select an eligible program from the official reference document.
3. Create an account on the GIRAF online platform.
4. Submit all required documents (transcripts, references, motivation letter) completely free of charge via GIRAF. Do NOT submit via email.
